WEEK 7 TULSA (WEEK 27 OF MISSION)

"Real G's move in silence like lasagna"

Hey friends and family!!! Young Elder Green coming atcha live

Picture from week before last at Mission Conference with some familiar faces,
Landon Munson and Morgan Degooyer
Man what a week what a week!!!

First things first we baptized La'Asia on Saturday, it went great! Elder Nau performed the baptism and I got to speak on baptism it was really cool and fun!!! We had 6 of our investigators come to the baptism too and they all want to be baptized and they came to church the next day and me and Elder Nau are really excited for all of that!!! The work is improving a lot as of lately.
Waiting for the font to fill is the best feeling!
Everybody all geared up for the big day!

with Sister Cardenas, Melanie, Thomas, and Diana.
Last night we went to the hospital to see a lady who will be baptized here in March. Her name is Carmel. We went with one of our friends Alec who is like 17 or 18, and so we went up there and we had planned on teaching her about the restoration and the Book of Mormon etc. We got into her hospital room and we told her what we were going to teach her about. Then she said, "Honeys ya’ll can teach me but I will not remember any of it tomorrow because I cannot even see straight!" hahaha so we did not teach her but instead just got her some food and sat down and laughed and she was telling us how much she loved us. I don’t know why but that moment just meant a lot to me and touched my heart a lot just to know that we don’t always have to be trying to teach the gospel and slam it down people’s throats. The best way into somebody's heart is with love and I just really enjoyed that.

I have to tell everybody that I really love you all! Missions are not always the easiest thing to be doing and I love my support and I am so grateful for everybody. Especially my mama! Everybody knows how awesome my mom is of course. But we were having a little question and answer with the youth this week that are preparing for missions and they asked us if we missed home or like what do we miss. I said, "Ya know you are gonna miss a lot of things but I would suggest just really loving and appreciating your parents, especially your mom." You never realize how nice you have it until you are having to take care of yourself and learn to do things on your own. I would suggest every one of you to take the extra second to tell the people you have in your life that you love them. I know I love my family a whole bunch and miss them and I know Heavenly Father placed us with people on this earth for a specific reason. This earth would not be much fun if we didn’t have people we loved to share it with. I love my mom! Thank you for everything mom.

Have a great week

WEEK 6 TULSA (WEEK 26 OF MISSION)

"MEEK STAYS IN MINGO"

ayy family and frienddddddssss

Another week out here in the valley of Mingo went great! My bag is lost for good and I have just had to accept it haha pretty lame of the people. There wasn’t even anything worth money lol just my patriarchal blessing and scriptures and camera. But thank you for the prayers!!! Transfer calls were this week and our entire zone is staying the same basically besides they are replacing Tulsa YSA with sisters but me and Elder Nau are staying.

I realized that satan really attacks you when you start to have success and are working hard because he feels threatened. It’s in times of success and happiness when if we can humble ourselves to stay close to the Lord we will have an awesome cycle of learning and growth without having to be humbled. "Blessed are they that humble themselves without being compelled to be humble."  I dont like being compelled to be humbled by the Lord haha.

This week was super cool though. Elder D. Todd Christofferson visited our area and spoke to the youth and also to our mission and the Oklahoma City Mission. So crazy to get to hug an apostle of the Lord and also I got to see my long lost friends Landon Munson and Abii Liddell serving in the Oklahoma City Mission. Haha it was so weird for me when they like walked through the doors it felt like a dream to see a familiar face. They are both doing so great and it was a real lift to my spirits to see them.

Our investigators are doing well and we continue to have a lot of success finding people! La'Asia didn’t get baptized because the building was being used because an apostle was here. She will be baptized next Saturday by Elder Nau though! So exciting. A cool experience I had was teaching this lady named Ladonna. She let us in her house one day after she requested a bible online. She was extremely scared and not very sure about Mormons etc. But when we opened up and told her that we leave our families etc. just to bring the gospel to her she started to tear up and she looked at me and she was like "So did ya’ll graduate college and stuff then?" and I was like no I’m 19 she lost it crying and now she calls us her babies lol and I predict she will be baptized soon! I love getting to change so many peoples’ lives!

A quick thought for you all that I learned from Elder Christofferson. Our whole purpose in coming to earth was to repent. Repent meaning to become closer to how Christ lives, I know that whoever is reading this isn’t perfect, haha none of us are so in the words of Elder Cristofferson "REPENT" haha change! Become better. Become more like our Father in Heaven. If we aren’t doing that then why did we ever even leave the pre-mortal existence.

I am now working on daily repentance haha love you all

WEEK 5 TULSA (WEEK 25 OF MISSION)

Hey family and friends I hope you all had a gucci week
Back at the tidy apartment
I had another crazy week and it was super busy. Something that is just on my mind still because to be honest, it really has been hard for me to swallow, was that my shoulder bag was taken. I lost my scriptures, camera, ipod, baptismal records, super important notes that meant a lot to me etc. So if everybody could please say a prayer when they read this I would appreciate it a ton. I have been fasting for a miracle but I think the Lord wants me to learn something from this experience.

Anyway enough about that dumb stuff this week was soo cool!!! We have a lot of baptisms coming up like around 7 or 8. We set a date with an awesome little nine-year-old girl named La'asia. She is super sweet and smart and Elder Nau will be baptizing her sometime this week!

We also set a baptismal date for the 27th for these kids Timothy, Thomas, Melanie and Diana. They all accepted the gospel so well. They are such awesome kids and I can’t wait to watch the gospel bless their lives. Everybody pray for their mom to be open to the gospel.

A cool thing I learned this week actually came during a super sketchy visit. We talked to these kids at Walmart one day and they invited us to come and share our beliefs with them. So we went and pulled up to their church, which was really just a house, and when we walked in all these like 20 to 24-year-old kids were there and they all were super nice and we talked for a second until we were lead to like this back room where we walked in and they closed the door behind us and there were just two chairs sitting there and then their "high priest" came out turned on this music and after about 2 hours of bible bashing in which they wouldn’t let us leave, I learned something super important.  You can't prove the Spirit to somebody. Everybody knows when they feel it and the Spirit will never be there when you turn to the arm of the flesh. I want everybody back home to remember that when they have doubts or hard times never to turn to the arm of the flesh but to turn to God. That is the only place we can find peace and happiness.

Love you all you are all in my prayers. Please pray for me to have a miracle!

WEEK 4 TULSA (WEEK 24 OF MISSION)

YA BOY GETS HIS FEET WET

hey friends and fammmmm!!!!!!!!!

I hope you all are having a greeaattt day and had a good weeek last week I had the best week ever!!!!!

This week started off with us setting a baptismal date with 5 of these kids for February 21st and we are so excited for them and what the gospel will add to their lives. They all had so many questions and we just sat down and answered all of them and taught them the restoration and they were all jumping out of there seats to be baptized haha! So everybody pray that their parents’ hearts will be softened and they will be allowed to be baptized. We also scheduled a baptism for a boy named Brendan for that same day this week so that is all super exciting

Saturday was the day that Whitney got baptized!!! Elder Nau got to baptize him and it was awesome!! His whole family came to see him and they are not members and actually he hadn't seen any of them for over 8 months so it was very emotional. I love this guy he is so awesome. Also he announced at his baptism that he is now engaged to his girlfriend who got baptized a year ago and they are just awesome. I got to confirm him the next day in Sacrament. Also Sunday was Ashlynn's baptism and it was soooooo cool for me to get into the water for the first time and just see some little girls bright face come out of the water as she made such an awesome decision of being baptized. The lord is blessing us so much out here and I love the work!!!
After Whitney's baptism with his fiance' Meghan
Ashlynn's Baptism!
Her family is the one from Vernal who knew my Dad's Fish Shop sign ;)
Mikey & Ashlynn all geared  up for the big moment!
A little something I have been thinking about is that our happiness all just depends on our attitude. So if anybody is having a hard time right now try to look at yourself before you start blaming the situation you’re in. I have found that sometimes I will be walking in the freezing cold getting door after door shut in my face and I have a smile the whole time and I am like, “Why am I so happy?” And then I realize because my attitude is just upbeat and happy with where I am!!! Love you all

Read the Book of Mormon that really is all that changes Mormons from other churches it is really just that! Love you

Elder Green!!!

WEEK 3 TULSA (WEEK 23 OF MISSION)

A Little Bit of This and a Little Bit of That

What is up my fam and friends

When basketball with the investigators gets
ruined by a Daddy/Daughter Valentine's Dance!

Mikey said, "Thinking about my Valentine.....Bball"
I am sorry the system was down last week and so I couldn't reply to your emails but thank you for all the love and support from back home!!!! This week was pretty wild!!!!

So first off I am super excited about this upcoming week!!! We have two baptisms this week on Saturday and Sunday. Saturday is a 20-year-old named Whitney, who has been investigating the church for a couple months and already has 10 times the powerful testimony than I have haha he is awesome and that is Saturday. Elder Nau, being the amazing missionary he is, actually has to go back to his old area, Mena Arkansas, Saturday morning to baptize one of the people he taught there before he got transfered so Saturday is going to be wild. Sunday I am sure will be the most amazing day of my life so far.  Ashlynn, who is our 9-year-old convert doesn't have a priesthood holder in her family so she has asked me to baptize her and I am so excited for her and her family as they all were at church and getting back into being active and it was all lead by a sweet little 9-year-old!!! It is awesome.

Ladonna also has a baptismal date and we will be working with her for it the end of Febuary and she is doing awesome and we actually have another baptism too coming up for a girl named Willow. The work is awesome out here and I am learning so much!!! The members are so involved and it is so awesome to see the blessings. A couple weeks ago when our bikes got stolen I felt super helpless as we walked in freeeeezzzing temperatures that next day. As we were walking our phone starting getting blown up by all the members offering us rides, food, etc. I love Mingo Valley so much.

Mikey and Jomarion and friends
A funny/not so funny scary thing that happened this week was that we were teaching Ashlynn the lesson about the commandments at Jack in the Box. Just as we finished up an awesome lesson with her and planned the baptism, there was a stir behind us in the store. Somebody had pulled a gun on one of the workers at Jack in the Box haha so everybody is like freaking out and going nuts and I am like shielding the three kids from Ashlynn's family that were there and like walked them to the door and they ran out to their car and left haha. Elder Nau was in the bathroom and missed like it all haha it was so nutz but nobody was even hurt and the guy with the gun left and it all was okay haha pretty crazy though.

Love you all have a great week
